Macadamia is agenusof fourspeciesof trees indigenous toAustralia, and constituting part of theplantfamilyProteaceae. They are native to northeasternNew South Walesand central and southeasternQueenslandspecifically. Three species of thegenusare commercially important for their fruit, the macadamia nut (or simply macadamia). Other names include Queensland nut, bush nut, maroochi nut, bauple nut and Hawaii nut. Macadamia nuts are tree nuts that have a subtle, butter-like flavor and creamy texture.
Like most other nuts, macadamia nuts are rich in nutrients and beneficial plant compounds. They’re also linked to several benefits, including improved digestion, heart health, weight management, and blood sugar control. Our ‘hot air’ roasting technology amplifies the nut’s intrinsic properties which are otherwise destroyed in deep frying, making ours a much healthier choice.
